She stood in front of the open backseat door. Tears streaked down her pale pudgy face when she said, “Say you’ll remember my face.”

I felt her pain for having to leave, for committing murder along with the remorse that came shortly after as a constant haunt. It is the pang that eats up her stomach, frightens her for having to be alone to deal with this.
